Jason Mraz has been a household name for many and his audience for his music comes in wide variety. He is acoustic, honest, and humble in his performances.
This is the second time that I’ve seen Jason Mraz. The first was back in 2008 when he first came to perform at Red Rocks. I remembered how amazing the performance was and couldn’t miss him again. On top of that he was bringing Christina Perri who has been one of my favorite non EDM artists for the past two years. I truly admire her. I had better seats this year too, but unfortunately it rained throughout the entire thing.
For those of you who haven’t heard about Christina Perri should start doing some research. I fell in love with her after I saw her live performance of “Jar of Hearts” on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ two years ago. Ever since I’ve been following her music footsteps. Her first release was of live recordings from the Ocean Way Studios, but since she has released one full album called “Lovestrong.”, written songs for the Twilight Saga soundtracks, and just released a Christmas album called “A Very Merry Perri Christmas”. All of these are available on iTunes for purchase. Seeing one of my biggest idols was life changing. Her performance was beautiful. She is so genuine. Her voice is smooth and jazzy and her instrumentation skills are amazing. Click here to see a video of a her performance. Perri was one of the best openers he could have picked. They are the perfect duo to be on tour with each other.
Jason Mraz’s performance was just as incredible as the last one 4 years ago. The band he brought with him were creative and talented. He is personal and each word he sings is meaningful. I noticed he performed with out shoes or socks as well, which showed the organic personality he has. The organic performance had an emotional effect on everyone. He performed all of his classics and had great focus on his new album “Love is a Four Letter Word” (available on iTunes). Everyone was singing along. He made me want to take care of the earth. I know that sounds strange, but he is very active with taking action in making our planet healthier. Like I said he is organic and sends his message through his wise words and lyrics.
Heres a short video of part of his performance. You can get a taste of his live talent.
