Keep Your Ears Open for Protohype

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a ‘keep your ears open’. There are a lot of new EDM artists on the rise and most I’ve only given show reviews on, but I believe that Protohype deserves extra recognition. I started listening to him back in September after he opened for Paper Diamond at the Ogden.

Protohype is a fresh artist who has done remixes for Adventure Club and Krewella. I’ve made his name a link so you can go to his soundcloud and listen to his remixes, original songs, and collabs with carnage and others. His remixes have won over the ears of many this past year. The ‘Need Your Heart’ remix EP from Adventure Club is to be released soon, which includes a remix by Protohype. It’s been on soundcloud for a few months now, but has yet to be released on iTunes. Click here to listen to it!

Protohype has some great collabs with Kezwik on his soundcloud as well. One of my favorites from them is ‘Hold Your Breath’. There are free downloads for some of his music including his latest release with Carnage. The two did a sick remix to Trinidad James ‘All Gold Everything’. In his last Ustream he said that he would be releasing a new EP in the spring and songs with Paper Diamond and Crizzly will also drop. He has a versatile sound, which seems to be the key to success in the EDM world. I suggest following him on soundcloud, Ustream, or twitter (@protohype) to keep up with his work. He is one of my new favorite artists and I know a lot of listeners are looking forward to see what’s in store for 2013
