Bring The Rain EP – Candyland

The Santa Barbara natives known as Candyland have been on the rise this past year. The duo’s drum & bass/moombahton style has won over the ears of many. They got their big break in 2012 when they won the Bingo Players remix contest. They have been releasing remixes over the past 6 + months including a remix for Krewella’s ‘Can’t Control Myself‘ and Skrillex’s ‘Make it Bun Dem‘, which also was another contest winner for them. Their soundcloud has a ton of remixes available to listen to and download. They also just uploaded the tracks to their new Bring in The Rain EP. The 7 song EP offers a fresh drum & bass/electro house/moombahton sound. The EP features Lexi Forche, Big Chocolate, and piano cover genius Evan Duffy on a bonus track. Candyland truly do have their own sound and style that make them stand out from the rest. ‘Bring The Rain (feat. Lexi Forche)‘ has a sweet opening piano melody with Forche’s vocals, but then builds and drops into a electro house beat that makes you want to dance. ‘Its a Shark‘ featuring Big Chocolate offers a funky dubstep sound and fun vocal bits that go with the song title and add a little humor to the track. ‘Beneath Myself‘ (one of my personal favorites) has sick vocals that lead to a slower dubstep sound that really demonstrates the distinct sound Candyland has made for themselves. My other favorite track from the EP is ‘Get Wild‘. I love the electro house feel it carries at certain moments, but I love the way it drops in and transitions to drum & bass/moombahton sound. The EP has plenty more to offer with track titles ‘All You Gotta Do‘ and ‘Castle of Affair‘. Make sure to check out Beatport where the EP is available to buy, download, and preview!

Candyland has done a fabulous job with their first EP. Their use of different sounds and the ability to produce dubstep, moombahton, and drum & bass is what’s going to put them on the map in 2013. Candyland will be a part of the Savoy Live with Lasers Tour and if you’re from the Denver area they will be at Cervantes February 7th with special guests! Tickets are on sale now so don’t miss your chance to see the them for only $10! I definitely plan on being there! I would love for them to become part of Electric Family! They are so talented and they would be a great addition to the family!
