I’m a little behind, but here’s what I’ve been listening to the past few days/week.
I’ve been on a Protohype binge lately. Ever since I discovered him I’ve come to love all of his work and this by far has to be one of my favorites. Him and Carnage have created a masterpiece with this one. The piano lines in the beginning and vocals throughout the song make it hard to stop listening to. It carries so much meaning through its lyrics. The builds and drops are awesome. It ends with the beautiful piano lines just as it started. Make sure to add this one to your collection!
This one is one to add to your rage collection. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Dirtyphonics, but hes back with an out of control banger. It walks of the line of hard core punk rock and dubstep. The two blend perfectly and I’m not sure how else I can describe this one. It’s definitely different than what has been getting released, but it also fits Dirtyphonics dirty dub style well. Take a listen and see for yourself!
Kill Paris has been getting recognition, but GRiZ has stepped out and put his own twist on Kill Paris’ ‘Slap Me’. I love what GRiZ has done with this track. He has really made it his own. His drums and synths give it a new electronic sound that is recognizable of GRiZ’s style and flavor. Check the free download from OWSLA’s soundcloud! If you’re in Denver make sure you catch GRiZ at the Ogden March 1st!
I can start by saying wow. This track is awesome. I am a huge Gramatik fan and the funky electronic sound he throws into this song was done perfectly. His bass and guitar filled blues sound truly makes him and this track one of kind. It is one of the first releases on the LowTemp record label. Even though he is one of my favorite artists, some of his work takes time to grow on me, but I immediately fell in love with this song. Give it a listen and make sure to add it to your library!
Krewella has done it again. Troll Mix Vol. 3 was released for all those lovebirds out there on Valentine’s Day. This mix is a lot different than the previous two, which can be heard and downloaded from their soundcloud. A more electro house approach was taken with this one. There is some awesome dubstep tossed in, but definitely fit the Valentine’s Day mood everyone was feeling. There are songs from Adventure Club, Zeds Dead, and many more featured in the mix! A free download is available so add it to your troll collection!
Last, but not least make sure you listen to Dillon Fracis’ rebirth to ‘Bootleg Fireworks‘. This is a new trapped out version of the moombahton original. Dillon has created his own trap style that I happen to love. Its bass filled, but keeps the essence of an electro house track that makes you want to dance. This Rebirth was another success for Dillon.
